Contract: 6-month fixed-term contract
Salary: £28,860 per annum, pro rata

About the role
We are looking for a Development & Administrative Officer to help strengthen the organisation behind the work we deliver in our communities.
This is a varied role combining administration, operations, programme support and fundraising development.
You will establish, coordinate and manage a central administrative function supporting our Board, volunteers, programmes and strategic priorities. You will also help drive fundraising activity, improve internal systems and identify funding opportunities that support the charity’s long-term sustainability and growth.

The role would suit someone who is organised, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of a broad range of responsibilities within a mission-led organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day administrative and operational systems
- Coordinate correspondence, records, documentation and digital files
- Support the Board, volunteers and wider organisation with administrative requirements
- Support the delivery of programmes, meetings and events
- Coordinate programme logistics and ensure activities run smoothly
- Maintain databases, records and relevant reporting information
- Support donor relationships and fundraising activity
- Research and identify suitable funding opportunities
- Assist with grant applications, funding proposals and supporting documentation
- Monitor key activities, timelines and follow-up actions
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, partners, volunteers and members of the community
- Support compliance, safeguarding and good-governance requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and digital efficiency
- Provide general operational support across the organisation as required
About you
We are looking for someone who can combine strong administration with initiative, professionalism and a genuine desire to contribute to the work of the charity.
You will ideally have:
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
- Confidence communicating with a range of stakeholders
- Good working knowledge of standard office software, including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation tools
- Experience using online collaboration and digital productivity tools
- The ability to work independently in a hybrid working environment
- A proactive approach to problem solving and improving how things are done

Experience in a charity, community organisation, fundraising, grant applications, programme administration or a similar environment would be advantageous, but we are also interested in candidates with transferable skills and a strong commitment to our mission.
