I’m working with a growing renewable energy business that is looking to hire a Development Associate into its development team.
This would suit someone with 1-3 years’ experience in the energy or renewable energy sector who wants to broaden their experience across the full development lifecycle.
The role will provide exposure to a range of renewable energy projects across the UK and Europe, supporting activities across land, grid and planning.
A particularly important part of the role will be grid coordination – working directly with DNOs, following up on actions, chasing responses and making sure projects continue to move forward.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is a great opportunity for someone relatively early in their renewables career to gain broad development experience across multiple areas of project development, rather than becoming siloed into one particular discipline.
