About the Charity
The Lord's Taverners is the UK's leading youth cricket and disability sports charity, empowering disadvantaged and disabled young people through the game. The charity has set an ambitious new five-year strategy (2026–2030), targeting growth of annual fundraised income from £5m to a north-star of £7m by 2030.
To underpin that growth, the charity is expanding its Development Board: a new advisory board of individuals who will open doors, lend credibility, and help the charity reach a wider donor base.
What the role involves
This is an advisory and connecting role, not an operational or fiduciary one. It suits individuals who enjoy fundraising and want their networks to do good, rather than those seeking a governance appointment.

Fundraising
- Work with the Lord's Taverners team to map your networks against the charity's fundraising strategy to include corporate partnerships, individual philanthropy, or trusts and foundations.
- Help facilitate introductions with the intent of establishing new corporate, individual, or trust and foundation support.
Raising the charity's profile
- Champion the Lord's Taverners within your own networks, including social media, professional platforms, and events.
- Build first-hand knowledge of the charity's work by visiting programmes and meeting the young people it supports.
Acting as a strategic sounding board

- Provide advisory input on the charity's strategic and financial plans, policies, and fundraising initiatives.
- Contribute value beyond fundraising, introductions to suppliers, pro bono expertise, or connections to individuals who can help support this cause.
- Be open to joining donor meetings alongside the Lord's Taverners team.
Terms and timelines
- Minimum two years, renewable for up to three two-year terms
- Quarterly board meetings, one annual 1:1 with the Fundraising Team, ad hoc donor introductions
- Central London (Victoria office) and virtual; one meeting per year at a live cricket match
- Starting from October 2026
