Company Description
M.R.F.A. is a specialist sports coaching business founded in 2013 by ex-professional player and UEFA A qualified coach Michael Richardson. Based in Essex, the organization delivers high-quality coaching across P.E., football development centres, football academies, and related programs. M.R.F.A. supports young players from ages 2 to 18, using sport as a vehicle to positively impact their lives and provide consistent, dedicated guidance. The team is proud to have six staff members who are UEFA B qualified or higher, surpassing many professional academies and reflecting a strong commitment to coaching excellence. Parents and players can expect a supportive environment focused on education, development, and long-term growth, regardless of playing level.
Role Description
The Development Centre Coach is a part-time, on-site role based in Great Dunmow, focused on delivering high-quality football coaching to young players. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Planning and leading engaging training sessions
- Supporting players’ technical and tactical development
- Promoting positive attitudes and behaviors on and off the pitch
- Providing constructive feedback
- Monitoring player progress
- Helping maintain a safe, inclusive environment for participants of varying ages and abilities
- Communicating effectively with parents and guardians
- Collaborating with other coaching staff
- Ensuring that sessions align with M.R.F.A.’s ethos of using sport to enrich the lives of young people

Administrative tasks such as session planning, attendance tracking, and basic reporting on player development may also form part of the position.
Qualifications
- Strong football coaching skills, including the ability to design and deliver age-appropriate technical and tactical training sessions
- Experience working with children and young people in a sports or educational environment, with a focus on player welfare and safeguarding
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with players, parents, and colleagues
- Organizational and time-management skills to plan sessions, manage groups, and maintain accurate records
- Relevant coaching qualifications (e.g., FA or UEFA coaching licenses), with UEFA B or above considered an advantage
- An understanding of child protection and safeguarding practices; an enhanced DBS check (or equivalent) and first aid training are highly beneficial
- A commitment to inclusive coaching, supporting players of all abilities and backgrounds, and aligning with M.R.F.A.’s developmental ethos
- Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends, depending on session schedules, and reliable transport to the Great Dunmow site
