About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Development Manager to join our team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with some of the UK's leading retail and brand partners, taking products from concept through to launch. You'll lead a team while driving innovation across the site, working closely with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver exciting new products.

135 years of craft baking skills lie behind the quality of the special branded cakes, sweet snacks, and slices we produce in Hamilton. We produce 55 million products each year. Lightbody’s is the UK’s largest supplier of celebration cakes to UK retailers, with Disney, Mars, Universal, and Thorntons all within the portfolio of branded cakes made under license. We also make a variety of supermarkets’ well-loved own-label cakes and in-store bakery bites.

It's an exciting time to join a growing business with continued investment in innovation, offering genuine opportunities to shape product strategy, develop your team, and make a real impact.

Responsibilities

As Development Manager, you'll lead the end-to-end product development process, taking accountability for projects from concept through to successful launch. You'll create and deliver the site development plan, ensuring products meet customer expectations, commercial objectives, and business strategy.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
