Cobalt is working exclusively with a well-capitalised, institutionally backed real estate business that is establishing a new development platform to deliver a significant pipeline of residential assets across the UK.

With 5–6 sites already secured and a development pipeline expected to span the next 5–7 years at least, they are now looking to appoint a Development Director to join the senior team and help shape the platform as it grows.

The Organisation

The business has significant institutional backing and an existing portfolio of residential development and other opportunities and assets across the UK, including BTR, Build to Sell, apartments and housing.

This is an opportunity to join at an early stage of the platform’s growth, working within a small, experienced team with committed projects already in place and the opportunity to influence how the development and construction function evolves.

The Role and Responsibilities

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will take strategic and commercial oversight across a portfolio of residential developments. Key responsibilities will include:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
