Overview

We are looking to recruit a Development Executive to join our growing East Anglia team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a highly respected and ambitious business with a strong presence across the region. You'll be joining a collaborative and supportive team where relationships matter, success is celebrated, and individuals are empowered to make a genuine impact on the growth of the business.

We're keen to hear from experienced Development Executives and Account Executives, but we'd also welcome ambitious insurance professionals from Account Handling, Account Management, or SME backgrounds who are passionate about winning new business, building relationships, and progressing into a client-facing development role.

As a Development Executive, you will be responsible for identifying, securing, and developing new business opportunities across East Anglia, creating long-term partnerships and helping drive sustainable growth across the region.

A key part of this role is building and developing strong relationships across your region, leveraging established partnerships and creating new opportunities within the market. You'll focus on nurturing trusted connections, growing your network, and developing long-term relationships that support sustainable business growth. We're therefore looking for someone who enjoys networking, building meaningful relationships, and taking a proactive approach to developing new business opportunities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Given the nature of the role, we're flexible on location across East Anglia. Success in this position comes from being out in the market meeting clients, strengthening partner relationships, and building your network across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex, rather than being office-based.

How you'll make an impact

  • Identify, secure, and convert new business opportunities across the East Anglia region.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key banking and referral partners, becoming a trusted extension of their network.
  • Build a strong market presence through networking, relationship management, and proactive business development activity.
  • Focus on understanding clients' needs and delivering tailored insurance solutions by leveraging our broad range of products and services.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the business to deliver outstanding client outcomes and support long-term growth.
  • Attend networking events, industry functions, and partner meetings, using your interpersonal skills to identify and maximise opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong insurer relationships to secure the most appropriate solutions for clients.
  • Represent Gallagher professionally within the market, promoting our expertise and reputation at every opportunity.
  • Take ownership of your territory, developing a robust pipeline of opportunities and building for future growth.

About You

  • Experience within the insurance industry and a good understanding of commercial insurance.
  • You may already be a Development Executive, Account Executive, Producer, or Business Development professional looking for your next challenge.
  • Alternatively, you could be an ambitious Account Handler, Account Manager, or SME insurance professional with strong relationship-building skills and a desire to move into a more sales-focused role.
  • A natural relationship builder who enjoys networking and creating trusted partnerships.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and driven to achieve results whilst maintaining a client-first approach.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing a regional territory, with the support of an established team and referral network.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients, partners, and insurers.
  • A track record of developing and converting new business opportunities.
  • A team player who values collaboration and contributes to a positive, high-performing culture.
  • Eligible to work in the UK and willing to travel within the region as required.
