Role Description

The Development Manager is a full-time role based in Tewkesbury with a hybrid working arrangement, combining on-site presence with some work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and cultivating individual donors, corporate partners, and grant funders to support the theatre’s artistic and community programmes. The role involves preparing funding proposals, sponsorship packages, and impact reports, as well as maintaining accurate records of supporter relationships and income pipelines. The Development Manager will collaborate closely with the leadership, marketing, and programming teams to align fundraising initiatives with organisational priorities and campaigns. They will also plan and deliver stewardship activities and events that deepen engagement with supporters and help grow long-term income streams for The Roses Theatre.

  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, development, or income generation within the arts, charity, or not-for-profit sector.
  • Strong skills in relationship-building, stakeholder management, and donor or partner stewardship.
  • Proficiency in written communication, including proposals, reports, and persuasive fundraising materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
  • Comfort with using CRM or fundraising databases, along with basic data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of grant-making processes, sponsorship models, or philanthropic giving would be highly beneficial.
  • Interest in the performing arts and commitment to community engagement, including work with young people and diverse audiences.
  • Relevant education or professional training in arts management, fundraising, business, or a related field is an advantage.
