We are currently working on behalf of an established residential developer in the West Midlands who are looking to appoint an experienced Interim Residential Development Manager to support the business across a busy pipeline of residential development opportunities.
This is a commercially focused role, requiring someone who can read, interpret and analyse land contracts and development agreements, identify key obligations and opportunities, and take ownership of progressing deals through to completion.
The Role
Working closely with the land, development and commercial teams, you will be responsible for managing and progressing a number of live residential development deals.
The role will involve:
- Reviewing and analysing land contracts, development agreements and associated legal documentation.
- Identifying key contractual obligations, milestones, conditions and risks.
- Monitoring and progressing deals against agreed timescales.
- Working with internal teams, landowners, solicitors and external stakeholders to ensure transactions continue to move forward.
- Identifying potential issues within contracts and escalating these where appropriate.
- Tracking contractual milestones, conditions precedent and key dates.
- Supporting negotiations and commercial discussions around live transactions.
- Ensuring all parties understand their obligations and that actions are followed through.
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting on the status of live deals.
- Working closely with solicitors and professional advisors to resolve outstanding contractual matters.
- Providing commercial and development input to help drive deals through to completion.
- Reviewing existing deals and identifying any areas where progress can be accelerated or risks mitigated.

About You
We are looking for an experienced Residential Development Manager, or Development professional with a strong understanding of the residential property/development sector.
You will ideally have:
- Strong experience within residential development, housebuilding or property development.
- Proven experience working with land contracts, development agreements or similar property documentation.
- The ability to read, understand and commercially interpret complex contractual information.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify risks, obligations and key dates.
- Experience managing multiple live deals and driving them through to completion.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership and get things moving.
- The confidence to work with solicitors, landowners, consultants and senior internal stakeholders.
