Development Manager Opportunity in the West Midlands

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Development Manager to join a growing property development business based in the West Midlands.

The successful individual will take ownership of projects across the full development lifecycle, from the early stages of a deal and due diligence through legal agreements, procurement, and construction, ultimately through to completion and handover.

This is a varied, hands-on position suited to someone with a strong understanding of the development process and the ability to coordinate multiple internal and external stakeholders to successfully progress schemes.

Experience within house building or residential development would be particularly advantageous, although candidates from wider property development backgrounds will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage development projects from initial due diligence through to completion and handover.
  • Support new development opportunities following acquisition and through the legal process.
  • Coordinate due diligence, identifying and managing development risks as projects progress.
  • Assist with the negotiation and progression of development-related legal agreements.
  • Manage and coordinate Development Funding Agreements and Agreements for Lease.
  • Work closely with legal advisers, funders, operators, consultants, contractors, and other key project stakeholders.
  • Appoint, brief, and coordinate external consultant teams throughout the development process.
  • Manage projects through pre-construction and procurement, including contractor appointment and key project milestones.
  • Oversee projects once on site, monitoring programme, cost, quality, and development obligations.
  • Manage the completion and handover process, ensuring contractual and stakeholder requirements are achieved.
  • Provide clear project reporting to the senior management team across programme, risk, cost, and delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
