IMSERV Overview

IMSERV is one of the UK's leading data collection and energy metering experts, delivering award-winning services to more customers in more places, meeting industry targets and becoming a benchmark for excellence. We offer a range of specialist metering technology for electricity, gas, and water along with highly accurate energy data collection services. All this is wrapped up with an easy-to-view online data management analysis and reporting software.

Purpose of Role

As a Development Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of software solutions through the effective management of both internal and offshore development teams. This role is focused on leadership, delivery assurance, and technical oversight rather than hands-on development. You will be responsible for ensuring that high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions are delivered while building high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement in engineering capability.

Acting as a key interface between technical teams and stakeholders, you will ensure clear visibility of progress, risks, and delivery outcomes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver successful outcomes across onshore and offshore development teams.
  • Provide technical oversight and constructively challenge design and architecture decisions.
  • Line manage team leads and senior engineers, supporting their development and performance.
  • Manage offshore suppliers, ensuring delivery quality, performance, and alignment to business expectations.
  • Assess team capability and structure, driving improvements to maximise effectiveness and delivery.
  • Ensure Agile delivery methodologies are effectively embedded and followed.
  • Provide clear reporting to stakeholders, including progress updates, risks, and escalation where required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
