6 months contract with a local authority

Rate: £530 per day Umbrella

Summary

This is a 6-month contract position with a local authority, offering a daily rate of £530 through an umbrella company. The role is pivotal in supporting the Council's housing development programme, focusing on the planning, development, and execution of residential projects from start to finish. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, developers, residents, and external partners to ensure the delivery of high-quality housing schemes that are cost-effective and make optimal use of Council resources.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the execution of current housing development projects and contribute to identifying and developing new housing opportunities.
  • Oversee and coordinate specific development projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and meeting quality standards.
  • Assist in the procurement and management of consultants, contractors, developers, and professional advisers.
  • Support project activities throughout the design, planning, and construction phases.
  • Aid in commercial negotiations and decision-making processes related to projects.
  • Collaborate closely with Housing, Property, Legal, Finance, Procurement, and Regeneration teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience in housing development, regeneration, construction, property, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in managing Handovers and Defects Liability Periods.
  • Proven track record in supporting housing or regeneration projects from inception to completion.
  • Extensive experience in engaging with residents, community groups, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience working with contractors, consultants, developers, and design teams.
  • A degree or equivalent experience in Housing, Construction, Property, Regeneration, Project Management, or a related discipline.

Additional Information

  • Working hours are 35 hours per week.
  • The role offers hybrid working: two days in the office (including Thursday) and three days remote.
  • Payment is on a bi-weekly schedule.
