BBI exists to help our customers create advances that improve health and save lives. We are seeking a Development Scientist to join our team. This is a fixed-term, full-time position based at our site in Crumlin. Join our team: advancing health, together.
The Role
The Development Scientist will be responsible for completing all planned laboratory work required for projects. The Development Scientist is expected to complete and write up experiments accurately utilizing approved formats. The role will also involve analysis and presentation of all results using Excel and PowerPoint for review and discussion by the project team.
In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Complete Laboratory work to BBI quality and health and safety requirements.
- Complete experimental write-ups to QMS requirements and work with appropriate colleagues to review and approve in a timely manner.
- Review of other scientists/senior scientists' experimental write-ups to achieve consistent quality and meet all QMS requirements.
- Complete Timesheets accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Awareness of targeted chargeable hours and communication of any issues/changes to Project Manager.
- Preparation of project reports and completion of any required customer communication for review as required.
- Attend customer meetings.
- Independent and accurate completion of planned laboratory work with the ability to plan experiments with appropriate controls.
- Work with project team to help in the design, execution, and data analysis of experimental work.
- Presentation of work using Excel and/or PowerPoint to Project Team and Customer where appropriate.
- Ensure day-to-day maintenance of a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness in the Laboratory and other working areas.
- Ensure clear and timely communication with all required personnel.
- Help supervise new starters if appropriate.
- General laboratory duties including support and maintenance of equipment.

This is a non-exhaustive list and other duties are required from time to time in line with the Development Scientist remit.
You Should Apply If
- Working knowledge in application of statistical methods, e.g., analytical and descriptive statistics, use of Minitab and Excel an advantage.
- Experience of working within a laboratory environment.
- Quality management systems.
- Knowledge of immunology and analytical techniques such as ELISA an advantage.
