RKW Ltd is now hiring for 2 Dev Support Engineers to join our IT team, based in Stoke on Trent.
We’re looking for people with experience of IT Support, covering some or all of; Desktop / Hardware, Software, Apps & Systems. Applications from ambitious Graduates welcome – but previous professional experience is a distinct advantage. As a business, we focus on the Microsoft Tech Stack, so practical experience of C# /.NET is a benefit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing Support to our key Business stakeholders, resolving their problems either through corrective action or provision of suitable information or escalating their issues.
- Taking a hand in the monitoring of the company’s automated systems as required to ensure that these are kept running at all times.
- Hardware and Software Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications. Perform routine system updates and patches.
- End-user Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, ensuring timely resolution for hardware and software related issues.
- Working alongside Senior Devs, learn and help develop our next generation of systems.
- Working with our key suppliers and vendors, ensuring that RKW is seen as the preferred business partner through our EDI systems.
- Taking part in rota based on-call support after training and check service operating in the evenings and weekends (includes answering and logging calls, escalating where unable to solve and monitoring automated systems to ensure uninterrupted operation during the out of hour’s period).
- Take on some other IT related duties as required.

Required Abilities, Knowledge & Attributes:
Essential:
- Excellent computer skills, you must love all things I.T.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Flexible and yet organised and structured approach to all aspects of work.
- Genuine interest in helping people.
- Knowledge of Office 365.
- Knowledge of Windows and MacOS operating systems.
Desirable (or a willingness to learn):
- Java or dot. Net.
- MS Dynamics Nav.
- Web or REST API dev.
- SQL or No SQL Database development.
- Power BI, Analysis Services.
- Driving Licence / Own Vehicle – to cover site visits.
Schedule:
8.30am-5pm. Monday- Friday, with on-call out of hours and weekends on a rotating basis, post induction / training. (On- call fees are paid).
Location:
Rotating across sites in Stoke-on-Trent and Stone. This rota is subject to change in the future as the needs of the business develops. Out of hours’ support will also be required on a rota system.
