Description

At System C, we build technology that connects and transforms health and care outcomes. Our software supports public services across the UK, helping organisations deliver better care to communities that need it most.

We are looking for a Development Team Lead to lead a finance-focused engineering team working on Controcc, a core product supporting our market-leading case management systems for Local Government. This is a senior, hands-on role where technical leadership, people leadership, and delivery ownership come together.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Leading a development squad, combining hands-on engineering with people management.
  • Owning day-to-day delivery, setting clear priorities and ensuring work moves smoothly from readiness through to release.
  • Providing technical guidance through coding, design decisions, and code reviews.
  • Supporting the growth, performance, and wellbeing of engineers in your team.
  • Ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with System C standards, including safe and effective use of AI-assisted tooling.
  • Collaborating closely with product, QA, architecture, and operations to balance scope, quality, and timelines.
  • Overseeing CI/CD pipelines and contributing to continuous improvement of build and release processes.
  • Leading incident response and root cause analysis for services owned by the team.
  • Supporting hiring, onboarding, and integration of new team members.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
