About the Role
You will be responsible for leading the development team working on a range of enterprise systems built upon modern technology stacks. You will have a strong background leading development teams within an agile setting and have the desire and enthusiasm to deliver but also innovate.
The development team are responsible for providing systems to frontline staff at the point of patient care. The team and supporting teams have expanded over the last year with a plan of continued recruitment and investment in the team to be a leader within the NHS.
The position is based in Fleet Solutions, and you will be responsible for initially driving a shift from legacy solutions written in asp.net, PHP and SQL (stored procedures) to modern .NET, React, Cloud First, Event Driven applications.
Responsibilities
- Leading the development team and providing systems to frontline staff at the point of patient care.
- Driving a shift from legacy solutions to modern technology stacks.
- Defining processes for the development team and ensuring adherence to code quality and standards.
- Collaborating with Project Managers/Product Owners to provide insight towards new development work.
- Providing assistance and guidance to the development team in best practices.
- Taking responsibility for resourcing the team correctly and reporting to the Deputy Director of Development.
- Being actively involved with development work without compromising the efficient functioning of the delivery team.
- Working on existing and new projects using the latest technologies.
- Operating in a cloud-first development environment and introducing new tools/approaches to improve the development lifecycle.
- Demonstrating an excellent understanding of the Change Framework and promoting awareness and adherence to the process within the team.
