We're looking for a Development Technical Officer to join our Development team and play an important role in supporting the delivery of our ambitious new homes programme. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow their technical knowledge and develop a long-term career within the housing and development sector.
Working alongside experienced colleagues, you'll help ensure our developments meet legislative requirements, industry best practice, and Abri's quality standards, while contributing to continuous improvement across our development programme.
What You'll Be Doing:
As our Development Technical Officer, you'll support the Development Technical Manager and wider Development team across a varied and interesting range of responsibilities, including:
- Providing technical support and guidance to Development, New Business, Sales, Programme Delivery, and Customer Care teams.
- Supporting the management of defect rectification projects, helping to coordinate contractors and ensure works are completed to a high standard.
- Attending site visits and benchmarks to ensure the quality of products and workmanship are in line with manufacturers' guidelines and specifications.
- Reviewing technical and contractual documentation and helping identify and manage potential risks.
- Assisting with post-contract matters, including planning conditions, Section agreements, audits, and compliance requirements.
- Building positive relationships with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Supporting the development of works and services frameworks alongside Procurement colleagues.
- Attending meetings with contractors, project managers, and employer's agents.
- Keeping up to date with changes in legislation, building regulations, and industry best practice.

What You'll Need:
- A basic understanding and a keen interest in the development, construction, housing, or property sector.
- Experience of working in a busy administrative, technical, or project-based environment.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- The ability to analyse information, identify solutions, and communicate effectively with different audiences.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
- A proactive and customer-focused approach.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- A willingness to continuously develop your professional knowledge and skills.
- Ability to understand basic written details and drawings.

Essential Development Requirement
This role offers an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career within Development. As part of your professional development, you will be required to undertake and successfully complete the relevant RICS-accredited qualification pathway, supported by Abri through a combination of on-the-job learning, formal training, and mentoring.
