We're recruiting: Development Technologist

Location: Telford (Hybrid, 3 days per week on site)
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Development Technologist to join our UK R&D team. You'll lead product development projects from concept to launch, managing R&D activities through the Product Evolution Process (PEP) while delivering innovative dairy products that meet consumer, customer, and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimise recipes, ensuring compliance with quality, food safety, nutritional, and legal requirements.
  • Create and present new product concepts and conduct kitchen, pilot plant, and factory trials.
  • Manage product testing, shelf-life studies, and project documentation.
  • Support scale-up activities and product launches, working closely with production teams.
  • Source and approve new ingredients, build supplier relationships, and manage briefs.
  • Contribute to project planning, risk management, costings, and stakeholder updates.
  • Ensure all development work complies with Müller standards and relevant legislation.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Food Science, Dairy Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of dairy science, processing, and nutrition.
  • Experience in food or dairy product development is desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Passion for food innovation with a creative mindset.
  • Effective communicator and team player, able to manage multiple projects.
  • Comfortable travelling to Müller sites and co-packers across the UK when required.
