Development Technology Lead, Assistant Vice President
Lead Developer (FinTech/Oracle PL/SQL) – Financial Systems Platform
About the Role
State Street is seeking a highly motivated Lead Developer with 15+ years of experience in financial application development, specialising in large-scale data-processing platforms. You will own the ZILO application platform—responsible for development, maintenance, and support across production, UAT, and development environments—while collaborating with stakeholders (Operations, Transfer Agency, Compliance, and external vendors).
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading technical solution design in a fast-paced Agile environment
- Managing offshore/onshore teams and vendors, ensuring seamless delivery
- Adhering to CI/CD pipelines and software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes
- Providing hands-on production support to maintain business continuity
- Migrating services to public cloud platforms
This role is ideal for developers with deep domain expertise in financial systems, particularly in OTC derivatives, transactional systems, and Oracle-based data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Ownership & Leadership
- Own the ZILO application platform (architecture, codebase, deployment pipelines)
- Bridge business and technical teams, translating complex financial workflows into scalable solutions
- Lead code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and setting technical standards
Requirements Gathering & Delivery
- Work closely with Business/Product teams on:
- Requirements analysis
- Implementation estimates
- Architectural/design decisions
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, backlog refinement, retrospectives)

Operational Support & Business Continuity
- Provide real-time support for latency/missing transaction issues
- Assist with data conversions and new client onboarding
- Troubleshoot failures in critical financial data pipelines
Cloud & System Modernisation
- Develop/optimise services for public cloud migration (e.g., AWS, Azure)
Process Improvement
- Proactively identify critical architectural risks and optimise performance/tuning
- Align with compliance and regulatory standards (internal/external)
What We Value
To succeed in this role, we look for:
Core Technical Abilities
- 10+ years of PL/SQL development experience
- Deep expertise in Oracle Database management (complex queries, performance tuning)
- Hands-on with data solutions in Oracle/Application DB environments
Domain Knowledge
- Strong understanding of financial systems, particularly:
- OTC derivatives processing
- Legacy transactional systems (including vendor platforms)
- he underlying business workflows supported by ZILO architecture
Software Development Practices
- Proven experience in Agile/Scrum delivery, CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborative problem-solving and continuous improvement

The ability to learn exposures in new financial products/toolkits rapidly is a must
Required Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent),
- 15+ years of software development experience in financial markets (critical)
- Experience in Oracle-based data-heavy systems, preferably trading domain
Preferred Experience
- Cross-environment software deliveries (dev/UAT/production)
- Synchronisation with global development/vendor teams
- Creates and owns the success of cloud migrations for fintech systems
