FTC DevOps Architect Opportunity

We have a brilliant FTC opportunity within a well-known global Financial Services organisation for an experienced DevOps Architect who will be responsible for defining and governing a DevOps, Platform Engineering, Developer Experience (DevEx), Continuous Delivery, and Infrastructure Automation strategy.

Role Overview

This DevOps Architect position will act as the technical authority for engineering enablement, ensuring that teams can build, test, secure, deploy, and operate software efficiently through scalable platforms, automation, reusable patterns, and modern engineering practices. The DevOps Architect ensures that architecture decisions optimise developer productivity, operational resilience, security posture, delivery velocity, platform cost, and long-term maintainability while supporting business objectives and technology transformation initiatives. This aligns closely with the organisation's growing emphasis on DevOps, developer experience, AI enablement, CI/CD automation, and platform engineering maturity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical authority for engineering enablement.
  • Define and govern a DevOps, Platform Engineering, Developer Experience (DevEx), Continuous Delivery, and Infrastructure Automation strategy.
  • Ensure architecture decisions optimise developer productivity, operational resilience, security posture, delivery velocity, platform cost, and long-term maintainability.

Role Requirements

Essential Experience:

  • Extensive experience across Platform Engineering, DevOps Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Cloud Engineering, SRE, or Architecture disciplines.
  • Demonstrable experience defining enterprise DevOps or Platform Engineering strategies.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, cloud engineering, and automation.
  • Experience leading engineering transformation initiatives.
  • Experience designing modern Azure cloud-native delivery platforms.
  • Strong stakeholder management and architecture governance experience.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering, infrastructure engineering, and operational delivery models.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, SRE, Software Engineer, or Infrastructure Architect.
  • Azure Cloud architecture certifications.
  • Kubernetes and container platform certifications.
  • Experience implementing DORA metrics, Value Stream Management, or Flow Metrics.
  • Experience with AI-enabled engineering platforms and Agentic SDLC capabilities.
  • Experience within a regulated financial services environment.

Compensation and Benefits

  • This is a 12-month FTC DevOps Architect position and will pay an annual salary of £120,000 (Pro-rata).
  • In addition, the Company offers a rewarding annual bonus scheme, excellent Company pension, full private health care (family members can be added at a small additional cost), educational budget, and various other regional / personal benefits.

Note:

  • Unfortunately, VISA Sponsorship is not available and candidates must be based living in the UK without any working / living restrictions.
  • From time to time you may be asked to visit the London or Surrey office for training / collaboration days.
