About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled AWS DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure on AWS. You will work on complex, mission-critical environments, supporting organizations in their cloud modernization journeys through automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and modern DevOps practices. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage hands-on with challenging infrastructure problems, improve cloud platform performance, and collaborate closely with experienced engineers, architects, and technical stakeholders to deliver secure and efficient solutions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise, practical experience, and security clearance. Candidates must have active SC clearance, with those based in Bristol ideally holding active DV clearance. A strong background in AWS infrastructure, automation, and security is essential. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi, along with experience in CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell. A solid understanding of AWS networking components, monitoring tools, and cloud security principles, including Zero Trust, is required. Candidates should have experience working within Agile environments and possess excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage secure AWS cloud infrastructure to meet organizational and project requirements.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi to ensure repeatability and consistency.
- Develop, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and automated delivery processes to accelerate software deployment cycles.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and observability strategies utilizing tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or CloudWatch to ensure system health and performance.
- Automate routine infrastructure and operational tasks through scripting, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual errors.
- Collaborate with Agile engineering teams, solution architects, and stakeholders to deliver cloud solutions aligned with business needs.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve infrastructure and application issues promptly, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Continuously evaluate emerging cloud-native and DevOps technologies, recommending and adopting innovations to improve existing platforms.
- Implement and uphold cloud security best practices, including Zero Trust architecture, to safeguard organizational assets.
- Participate in security audits, compliance activities, and documentation to meet regulatory and organizational standards.
