About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Platform Engineer to join a prominent enterprise-scale global entertainment organization. This hybrid role based in London offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic environment that spans cloud and on-premise infrastructure. As a key member of the technical team, you will be responsible for supporting and enhancing the organization’s modern hybrid infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, scalability, and resilience. The role requires a hands-on approach, with a focus on Kubernetes, Linux administration, automation, and platform reliability. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams worldwide, providing technical guidance and support to facilitate continuous delivery and operational excellence.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and practical experience, including but not limited to:
- Proven experience in administering sharded MongoDB clusters.
- Extensive hands-on experience building and managing Kubernetes environments, including GKE and self-managed clusters.
- Strong background in designing and maintaining highly available, resilient infrastructure solutions.
- Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK Stack, and rsyslog.
- Expertise in infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, Packer, and Bash scripting.
- Deep understanding of Linux administration, particularly in Ubuntu environments.
- Experience working within medium to large-scale business environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and experience collaborating across geographically dispersed teams and time zones.

Responsibilities
The DevOps Platform Engineer will be responsible for a wide range of technical and operational tasks, including:
- Building, managing, and scaling Kubernetes clusters across hybrid cloud and on-premise environments to support business applications.
- Supporting and administering databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Managing monitoring, alerting, and logging platforms to maintain high visibility into system health and performance.
- Automating infrastructure deployment and management through Infrastructure as Code practices using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and scripting languages.
- Maintaining high availability and resilience of critical systems, implementing best practices for disaster recovery and fault tolerance.
- Managing access controls, permissions, and security policies within cloud platforms to safeguard sensitive data and comply with industry standards.
- Troubleshooting platform issues, tuning performance, and implementing platform optimizations to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Developing and documenting technical standards, operational procedures, and best practices for the team and wider organization.
- Providing technical support, mentorship, and guidance to engineering teams to facilitate smooth deployment and operational activities.
