DevOps Engineer
UK-Wide | Hybrid
National Security / Central Government
Permanent | Up to £75,000
I’m working with a specialist software consultancy delivering bespoke technology solutions across National Security and Central Government, and they’re looking to bring in an experienced DevOps Engineer as part of continued growth.
This is a hands-on opportunity within an Agile engineering team, working on a large-scale programme to build a new bespoke software solution. The focus is heavily on AWS, cloud infrastructure, automation and building platforms from the ground up.
The Role
You’ll be involved in:
- Designing and building AWS cloud infrastructure
- Deploying and managing Kubernetes environments
- Infrastructure as Code and automation
- CI/CD, deployment and monitoring
- Improving availability, resilience and performance
- Security, compliance and disaster recovery
- Troubleshooting complex infrastructure and application issues
- Supporting and mentoring junior engineers

What we’re looking for
You’ll ideally have experience across:
- AWS / cloud infrastructure
- Kubernetes, Docker and Helm
- Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
- CI/CD and automation
- GitLab / Jenkins
- Monitoring and observability
- Linux and infrastructure engineering
- Agile engineering environments

Experience with Packer, Vault, Serverless, Elastic Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, Artifactory or Nexus would also be beneficial.
Due to the nature of the work, this role requires high-level security clearance. You’ll need to hold a British passport and have lived permanently in the UK for the last 5 years.
