DevOps Engineer
Contract length - 6 month FTC
Start date - ASAP (must be within a 2 week notice)
Location - mostly remote in England. Berkshire office day 1 to collect equipment
The client is a fast growing SaaS business. As a DevOps Engineer you will focus on using Kubernetes and AWS to accelerate and unblock the delivery of a K8s environments hosted in AWS. You will work with internal teams to design, build and stabilise secure, repeatable development, testing and production environments. The role is delivery-focused - resolve technical blockers, establish robust infrastructure and deployment patterns, transfer knowledge and leave clear documentation and operational ownership at the end of the engagement.

DevOps Engineer - Responsibilities
- Assess the current Kubernetes platform, AWS architecture, delivery plans, and design 6 month delivery plan with clear priorities.
- Design, build and configure secure, reliable, and scalable Kubernetes environments in AWS
- Diagnose and resolve issues across clusters, containers, AWS services, storage, and deployment pipelines
- Implement Infrastructure as Code and automation as well as security, scalability, and monitoring best practice
- Produce concise architecture, configuration, and support documentation and provide practice knowledge to the team
DevOps Engineer - Requirements
- Experience designing, building and operating production grade Kubernetes platforms within time-constrained programs (CI/CD)
- Kubernetes cluster architecture
- AWS experience supporting containerised workloads
- Experience establishing separate development, testing and production environments with controlled configuration and release promotion
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration automation using Terraform and Ansible
- Linux administration
- Experience documenting platform designs and transferring knowledge to an internal engineering team
- Strong problem solver
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
