DevOps / Platform Engineer (AWS, Terraform, Containers)

Contract

  • Initial 3 months

Outside IR35

Day rate

  • £550 - £600/day

Location

  • Manchester (up to 1 - 2 days onsite)

We're supporting a fast-growing technology product business as they scale their platform engineering capability and invest heavily in the infrastructure, tooling and automation behind a globally-used product.

This is a strong opportunity for a Platform Engineer with a genuine Software Engineering background to join a highly talented team, helping build and evolve a modern cloud platform that lets engineers ship software quickly, securely and at scale.

We're after someone who understands infrastructure but also understands developers. Someone who's spent real time building software themselves and can bridge the gap between engineering and platform teams.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing and building scalable AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
  • Developing and maintaining reusable Terraform modules and platform tooling
  • Supporting containerised workloads and orchestration platforms
  • Building and improving CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
  • Driving platform reliability, security, observability and operational excellence
  • Working closely with Software Engineers to improve developer experience and productivity
  • Contributing to architectural decisions across cloud, platform and application delivery
  • Helping shape platform engineering best practices within a growing product organisation
  • Supporting the evolution of internal developer platforms and self-service capabilities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
