As our portfolio continues to grow, we're looking for experienced Senior and Lead DevOps Engineers to join our engineering practice and support the delivery of major public sector transformation programmes.
This is an opportunity to work on high-profile government projects, building cloud platforms that enable secure, reliable and resilient digital services used across the UK.
The Opportunity
As a DevOps Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, implementing and supporting modern cloud infrastructure while driving automation across the software delivery lifecycle.
Working as part of multidisciplinary Agile teams, you'll collaborate with software engineers, solution architects, security specialists, product managers and platform teams to build cloud-native environments using Infrastructure as Code and DevOps best practices.
You'll help improve platform reliability, deployment automation, operational resilience and developer productivity across a range of mission-critical digital services.
What You'll Be Doing
Cloud Infrastructure & Automation
- Design, implement and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, primarily Terraform.
- Build secure, highly available and scalable cloud environments aligned with industry best practice.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management and operational workflows.
- Continuously optimise cloud platforms for performance, resilience and cost efficiency.

CI/CD & Platform Engineering
- Develop, maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines to support efficient software delivery.
- Automate build, test and deployment processes across multiple environments.
- Improve platform observability through monitoring, logging and alerting solutions.
- Drive continuous improvements in release quality, deployment frequency and engineering efficiency.
Containers & Cloud Operations
- Deploy, manage and support containerised workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Maintain cloud-native hosting platforms across production and non-production environments.
- Investigate and resolve infrastructure, platform and deployment issues.
- Ensure environments meet security, governance and operational compliance requirements.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with cross-functional delivery teams to design and implement technical solutions.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to cloud platform strategy.
- Champion DevOps culture, automation and engineering excellence throughout delivery teams.
Senior and Lead DevOps Engineers will also provide technical leadership, mentor colleagues and support the delivery of complex cloud solutions.
Skills & Experience
We're looking for engineers who have:
- Active SC Clearance (mandatory).
- Strong commercial experience delivering DevOps solutions within AWS environments.
- Hands-on knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda and ECS/EKS.
- Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
- Proven experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
- Strong Docker and Kubernetes experience within production environments.
- Scripting skills using Python and/or Bash.
- Solid understanding of Git version control.
- Experience working within Agile, multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
