Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in DevOps practices with specific expertise in AWS cloud services. Relevant qualifications include:

• Proven hands-on experience with Linux and networking fundamentals
• Proficiency in automation tools like Terraform and Ansible
• Experience supporting Kubernetes environments, especially AWS EKS
• Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go to facilitate automation and tooling development
• AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer are preferred but not mandatory
• A solid understanding of cloud security principles, networking, IAM, firewalls, and VPNs
• Excellent problem-solving skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and support scalable infrastructure solutions across AWS and private cloud environments, ensuring high availability and security compliance.
• Automate the provisioning and configuration of infrastructure components using Terraform and Ansible, reducing manual intervention and increasing efficiency.
• Create, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions to facilitate rapid and reliable software deployment cycles.
• Implement comprehensive monitoring and observability solutions using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and AWS CloudWatch to ensure system health and performance.
• Manage hybrid networking configurations, including IAM policies, firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures to safeguard infrastructure assets.
• Enhance infrastructure security posture by implementing best practices, vulnerability assessments, and security patches.
• Support Kubernetes environments, including managing AWS EKS clusters, and troubleshoot container orchestration issues.
• Participate in an on-call rota to respond promptly to infrastructure incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and swift resolution.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and promote DevSecOps practices.
