Quant DevOps Engineer - Contract - London - Investment Management

A leading Hedge Fund are seeking a Cross-Platform DevOps and Release Engineer to join the quant group.

This role combines build and release engineering, cloud infrastructure, developer tooling, and improvements to software quality and engineering practices. You will work with teams developing C++ and Python applications, with some Java, across Linux, Windows, cloud, containerised, and desktop environments.

You will take end-to-end ownership of product releases, improve their reliability, repeatability, security, and automation, while helping teams strengthen development workflows, CI/CD, code quality, and approved AI-assisted tooling.

You will have:

  • Strong experience in DevOps, platform, build or release engineering, or developer productivity.
  • Practical understanding of C++ toolchains and CMake, plus strong Python skills for scripting, automation, testing, packaging, and environment management.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GitOps deployment, ideally Argo CD, and designing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Good understanding of Git, automated testing, artefact management, software versioning, and release-management practices.
  • Experience across Linux and Windows, with strong troubleshooting skills.
