About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. This is a permanent position based in Manchester, offering an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact, mission-critical projects for industry-leading national security clients. The successful candidate will possess active enhanced DV clearance and will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure solutions. You will be responsible for leading technical initiatives, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring the seamless integration of DevOps practices across projects.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a hands-on DevOps Engineer with experience in security-sensitive environments. Essential qualifications include an active enhanced DV clearance, strong technical expertise in containerization and infrastructure as code technologies, and excellent communication skills. A background in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Spring Boot is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate experience operating within SRE/DevOps frameworks, managing stakeholder relationships, and leading technical teams.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable infrastructure solutions in line with project requirements.
- Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes to facilitate deployment and orchestration.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code tools like Ansible and Terraform to automate provisioning, configuration, and management of infrastructure resources.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines, ensuring continuous integration and delivery processes are efficient and reliable.
- Lead and mentor junior DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of best practices and continuous improvement.
- Maintain high standards of security, compliance, and operational excellence in all aspects of DevOps activities, adhering to national security protocols.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs, communicate technical solutions effectively, and ensure project objectives are achieved within scope and timeline.
- Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in DevOps and cybersecurity, recommending improvements and innovations.
