The opportunity
Birchwell Associates is supporting a growing technology business in the search for a DevOps Engineer. This is an opportunity to take ownership of cloud infrastructure, deployment automation and operational reliability within a modern engineering environment.
You will work closely with software engineering, platform and security colleagues to improve how services are built, deployed, monitored and supported. The role offers strong technical ownership and the chance to influence tooling, standards and architecture.
What you will be doing
- Build, maintain and improve cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code.
- Develop and support CI/CD pipelines that enable reliable, repeatable software delivery.
- Improve monitoring, logging, alerting and operational visibility across production systems.
- Work with software engineers to improve deployment practices, resilience and release confidence.
- Support containerised services and orchestration platforms across development and production environments.
- Contribute to security, backup, disaster recovery and operational best practice.

What we are looking for
- Strong commercial experience in a DevOps, platform, cloud or site reliability engineering role.
- Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure in a production environment.
- Experience with Terraform or another infrastructure-as-code tool.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD, Git-based workflows and automated deployment practices.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes or a comparable container orchestration platform.
- Good scripting skills and confidence troubleshooting Linux, networking and application infrastructure issues.

- Salary between £70,000 and £85,000, depending on experience.
