About The Role

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join a fast-growing FinTech scale-up that is revolutionizing financial services through innovative technology solutions. This fully remote role within the UK offers an exciting opportunity to work at the cutting edge of cloud infrastructure, security, and automation. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in building, maintaining, and securing scalable cloud environments, primarily leveraging AWS technologies. This position provides a unique chance to influence the technical direction of a rapidly expanding business, ensuring the platform remains resilient, secure, and efficient as the company scales. You will collaborate closely with engineering, security, and product teams to implement best practices, optimize deployment pipelines, and enhance platform security and performance.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering role, demonstrating a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and automation. Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, VPC, and security groups is essential. Proficiency with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code is required, along with familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions is highly desirable. A solid understanding of cloud security principles, including platform hardening, identity management, and network security, is necessary. Familiarity with MongoDB management, scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Rust, and integrating security tooling like SIEM and DLP solutions will be advantageous. Strong communication skills and a proactive problem-solving approach are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure AWS cloud infrastructure to support the company's growth and operational needs.
  • Manage AWS services including EC2, Lambda, VPCs, subnets, security groups, and routing to ensure optimal network architecture.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions to streamline deployment processes.
  • Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform, adhering to Infrastructure as Code principles for consistency and repeatability.
  • Implement platform hardening and security best practices across the AWS environment to protect against vulnerabilities and threats.
  • Integrate cloud infrastructure with security tools such as SIEM, DLP, and other security platforms to ensure comprehensive security coverage.
  • Manage identity and access controls across the platform, including AWS IAM, SSO, and enforcing least-privilege principles.
  • Monitor system performance, security, and reliability, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain platform integrity.
  • Support and optimize MongoDB environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, security, and product teams to enhance deployment processes, developer experience, and platform capabilities.
  • Contribute to the evolution of DevOps and cloud engineering best practices as the organization scales and evolves.
