About The Role
The Staff DevOps Engineer at Altium will play a pivotal role in designing and maintaining resilient, scalable, and cloud-native environments that support the company’s innovative platform. This position involves architecting automation solutions, streamlining deployment pipelines, and optimizing infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance across regions. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with software development teams to understand their needs, develop infrastructure as code, and implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes. This role requires a proactive approach to monitoring, scaling, and securing application services, while mentoring team members and sharing knowledge to foster a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and be passionate about leveraging technology to drive customer success and operational excellence.

Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) environments
- Extensive experience working with Linux and Windows operating systems
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s)
- Proficiency in cloud infrastructure components, particularly AWS services such as EC2, EKS, RDS, Lambda, S3, Opensearch, FSX, Route53, and network appliances
- Working knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or similar systems
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably with Terraform
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Knowledge of microservice architecture and related deployment patterns
- Experience in monitoring Kubernetes clusters, application performance management (APM), and infrastructure monitoring tools such as NewRelic and Prometheus
- Ability to develop automation tools using Go, Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Familiarity with Continuous Delivery practices for microservices
- Strong coding skills and experience in scripting and automation
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain resilient and scalable cloud-native environments to support company platforms and services
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes and automate server provisioning and application deployment
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, ensuring repeatability and version control
- Deploy, monitor, and scale application services across multiple regions to ensure high availability and performance
- Establish and maintain monitoring and alerting systems for Kubernetes clusters, services, and infrastructure, utilizing tools such as Prometheus and NewRelic
- Collaborate with software development teams to understand their infrastructure needs and provide tailored automation solutions
- Mentor team members, promote knowledge sharing, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Participate in strategic planning and project management activities to align infrastructure initiatives with business goals
- Ensure security best practices are integrated into all aspects of infrastructure and deployment processes
