Belfast - Hybrid
Eligibility to obtain UK SC clearance (residency and nationality requirements apply).
Ocho are recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing technology company based in Belfast, operating in high-assurance and regulated environments. The business is scaling quickly and the infrastructure team sits at the heart of how its platform is built, secured, and delivered.
This is a hands-on platform engineering role for someone who wants real ownership. You will work across connected and disconnected environments, with a particular focus on Kubernetes and secure-by-design infrastructure. If you want to do meaningful work on infrastructure that genuinely matters, this is the role.
What you will own
- Deploy and maintain Kubernetes clusters across connected and air-gapped environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines designed to function in constrained and disconnected environments.
- Own infrastructure as code across the estate, keeping environments reproducible, auditable, and well documented.
- Monitor and improve platform reliability, identifying and resolving issues before they become incidents.
- Contribute to security hardening, access controls, and compliance evidence across the infrastructure estate.
- Work closely with engineering teams to support deployments into regulated and high-assurance environments.
- Support the broader team with tooling, automation, and platform guidance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
