About The Role
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join a secure engineering environment supporting critical platform operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is integral to ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of a business-critical platform within an established engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting AWS-hosted infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and live services, working collaboratively with development, support, and platform teams. The role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to automation, infrastructure enhancements, and service resilience in a highly secure and regulated setting. The position requires a proactive approach to monitoring, incident resolution, and operational resilience, with a focus on maintaining high standards of security and compliance.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in platform engineering and infrastructure management, with expertise in cloud technologies, automation, and monitoring tools. Essential qualifications include experience with AWS services, Terraform, Docker, NGINX, and PostgreSQL in both EC2 and RDS environments. Proficiency in Linux and Windows administration, along with knowledge of networking technologies such as VPNs, Transit Gateway, and API Gateway, is required. Candidates should have hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools like Jenkins, GitLab, and Groovy, and a solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles. Additional desirable skills include scripting in Python, container orchestration, and knowledge of AI and analytics platforms. Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities
- Support and maintain AWS-hosted infrastructure and platform services to ensure operational stability and security.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform to enable scalable and repeatable deployments.
- Support Docker-based applications across development, testing, and production environments, ensuring consistent containerization practices.
- Assist in the development, support, and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines utilizing Jenkins, GitLab, and Groovy scripts.
- Monitor platform health, performance, and availability using Elastic, Kibana, and other observability tools, proactively addressing issues.
- Investigate and resolve infrastructure, deployment, and service-related incidents to minimize downtime and impact on operations.
- Support networking technologies including VPNs, OpenVPN, Transit Gateway, and API Gateway to ensure secure connectivity.
- Maintain and optimize platform services such as NGINX and PostgreSQL, ensuring their availability and security.
- Contribute to operational resilience activities, including disaster recovery planning and service continuity initiatives.
- Perform platform maintenance, security patching, and updates to uphold security standards and compliance.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and operational procedures for ongoing support and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment processes, automation, and overall system efficiency.
- Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and on-call support to ensure continuous service delivery.
- Adhere to established engineering standards, security controls, and operational policies to maintain a secure environment.
- Support a 24/7 operational environment by participating in on-call rotations as required, demonstrating flexibility and commitment.
