About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) to join our dynamic IT team at Thüringer Aufbaubank. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing and enhancing our web-based applications and infrastructure. Your primary focus will be on automating deployment processes, optimizing continuous integration and delivery pipelines, and ensuring the stability and security of our web applications. As a key member of the development team, you will collaborate closely with software developers and system administrators to streamline workflows, reduce deployment times, and improve overall system reliability. Your expertise will help us maintain a resilient, scalable, and efficient IT environment that supports our organizational goals and service commitments.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a relevant degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field, complemented by extensive professional experience in DevOps practices. Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as GitLab and GitLab CI, along with automation frameworks like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef, is essential. Experience with Java-based web applications, Nginx configuration, and relational databases including Oracle and PostgreSQL is highly advantageous. Candidates should be comfortable working in Linux environments and familiar with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python and Bash, along with monitoring and logging tools like CheckMK and Splunk, will be considered a strong asset. A proactive attitude, excellent communication skills in German and English, and a willingness to learn new technologies are vital for success in this role.

Responsibilities
- Manage and develop our existing infrastructure, implementing DevOps automation strategies and Infrastructure-as-Code principles to improve system efficiency and scalability.
- Oversee and enhance Continuous Delivery pipelines for web applications, maintaining and evolving GitLab-CI pipelines and deployment procedures.
- Collaborate with software developers to facilitate rapid, reliable deployment cycles, reducing turnaround times from development to production.
- Monitor the operational health of web applications, ensuring high availability and performance, while supporting patch management and vulnerability mitigation processes.
- Assist in configuring and maintaining web servers, load balancers, and databases, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Implement and maintain monitoring and logging solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, proactively integrating relevant innovations into our infrastructure.
