About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with SC Clearance to join our dynamic team on a permanent basis. This role is primarily focused on designing, building, and maintaining large-scale AWS cloud infrastructure for high-security public sector projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud platform engineering, automation, and infrastructure as code, with the ability to work effectively within a hybrid working environment based out of Newcastle. As a key member of our technical team, you will collaborate closely with development, engineering, and stakeholder teams to deliver robust, scalable, and secure cloud solutions. Your expertise will contribute to the continuous improvement of our cloud platforms, automation processes, and DevOps best practices, ensuring the delivery of mission-critical services for national security and defense programs.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in DevOps or platform engineering roles, particularly with AWS infrastructure management.
- Experience working with large-scale AWS environments, demonstrating proficiency in cloud architecture design.
- Hands-on knowledge of container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitHub for automated deployment pipelines.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Strong understanding of monitoring tools including Prometheus and Grafana.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
- Eligibility for SC Clearance is essential.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement AWS cloud infrastructure and platform solutions tailored to project requirements.
- Automate deployment and infrastructure provisioning processes using industry-standard DevOps practices.
- Maintain and optimize large-scale AWS environments to ensure high availability, security, and performance.
- Collaborate with development teams to support continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines.
- Implement and enforce engineering standards and best practices across cloud platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and platform issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Monitor system health and performance using tools like Prometheus and Grafana, making improvements as needed.
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather technical requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing knowledge and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and DevOps methodologies to continually enhance platform capabilities.
