DevOps Engineer – DV or eDV Cleared
Location: Fully site-based in Cheltenham, Manchester, London, or Scarborough.
Salary & Benefits:
- Up to £65,000
- 25 days' holiday, with the option to buy up to 10 additional days
- £3,000 clearance retention bonus

We're looking for a DevOps & Automation Engineer to join a secure defence technology team. You'll work in a highly skilled, collaborative environment, building and maintaining secure infrastructure and automation solutions across complex programmes. This is a fully site-based role supporting highly secure client environments, where you'll work alongside experienced engineers to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.

What you'll be doing
- Design and implement DevOps and automation solutions for secure infrastructure.
- Develop scripts, services, and configurations using Infrastructure as Code.
- Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling.
- Take ownership of automation projects from design through to delivery.
- Provide technical guidance and mentor other engineers.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, automation, and integration issues.
What you'll bring
- Strong experience with Microsoft and Linux technologies in secure environments.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management.
- Experience with Ansible and Terraform.
- Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Experience with GitLab or similar CI/CD tooling.
- Good understanding of network security and system integration.

Nice to have
- Experience with Kubernetes or other container platforms.
- Knowledge of virtualisation technologies.
- Experience across on-premises, hybrid, or multi-cloud environments.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Understanding of secure design principles and security frameworks.
- Experience contributing to solution design and technical documentation.
