About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and inquisitive Principal DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team in London. This role is vital in planning, designing, building, and testing our next-generation cloud platform, which integrates digital video assets, wearable data, and athlete insights. The ideal candidate will be passionate about platform engineering and possess a strong drive for continuous learning and improvement. You will take ownership of infrastructure automation, cloud security, and platform architecture, ensuring our systems are scalable, reliable, and compliant with industry standards. Your leadership will influence the technical roadmap, establish governance standards, and embed security practices into our development lifecycle. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help deliver a high-quality experience to our global customer base, supporting our mission to maximize athlete performance through innovative technology solutions.

Qualifications
- Extensive experience in DevOps, Site Reliability, Platform, or Infrastructure Engineering, with proven technical leadership skills.
- Deep expertise in AWS cloud platform, including security and compliance practices.
- Strong background in infrastructure automation (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools.
- Experience in designing and re-architecting large cloud infrastructure systems based on business needs.
- Solid understanding of Application Security (AppSec) principles and integrating security into build and deployment pipelines.
- Experience managing hybrid environments, including traditional data centers and on-premises services.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Experience working within regulated industries such as healthcare or fintech is a plus.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks like SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and GDPR.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage cloud infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Design, build, and maintain logging, monitoring, alerting, and SLO/SLI frameworks to ensure system health and performance.
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to facilitate fast, safe, and repeatable software delivery.
- Oversee infrastructure operations, ensuring scalability, availability, and adherence to security standards and regulatory compliance.
- Implement and maintain cloud security controls, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Lead security-first initiatives by collaborating with security and IT teams to patch and secure infrastructure.
- Embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines, promoting a "shift-left" security approach.
- Define and execute the architectural roadmap for Catapult’s global cloud platform, evaluating emerging technologies such as serverless computing, AI, and containerization.
- Establish technical governance standards and reusable Infrastructure as Code patterns to ensure consistency across environments.
- Champion the integration of automated security and compliance auditing within the development lifecycle.
- Provide strategic guidance on platform evolution, ensuring scalability and resilience aligning with business growth.
