DevOps Engineer
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a technology services team supporting a major UK banking organisation. The role will focus on the delivery, operation, and continuous improvement of secure, reliable, and scalable technology platforms. You will work closely with technology and engineering teams across infrastructure, service engineering, and software delivery.
Location: Leeds
Working Mode: Hybrid - 2 days per week in the Leeds office.
Contract: 6 months, with possibility of extension
Rate: £400 per day, Inside IR35
Sector: Financial Services / Banking
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor technology platforms and services, ensuring reliability, performance, and availability.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and infrastructure automation.
- Support cloud orchestration, platform maintenance, configuration, and integration activities.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of effective technical solutions.
- Apply software engineering and Agile practices to deliver and improve technology services.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues using strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Support SRE and service engineering practices to improve reliability and operational performance.
- Work collaboratively with technology teams and stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.
- Maintain a strong customer-focused approach to technology service delivery.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing where required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of technology platforms, processes, and ways of working.

Essential Experience

- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and infrastructure automation.
- Experience supporting IT platforms, hosting environments, and technical operations.
- Experience with systems monitoring, troubleshooting, and service reliability.
- Understanding of cloud orchestration and platform maintenance.
- Experience with configuration and system integration.
- Understanding of software engineering and Agile methodologies.
- Strong technical problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to provide technical guidance and contribute to coaching and knowledge sharing.
