Cloud Engineer – AWS | National Security

Locations: Manchester or London (Hybrid)
Salary: £50,000 - £65,000
Security Clearance: Must be eligible for UK DV clearance

Are you an experienced AWS / Cloud Engineer looking to work on technology that directly supports UK National Security?

We’re working with a leading technology and engineering organisation that is growing its team across Leeds, Manchester and London, working on complex and highly impactful projects supporting National Security customers.

This is an opportunity to work on challenging AWS environments where you'll have genuine ownership across the design, development, deployment and maintenance of cloud applications and services.

The Role

You'll join an experienced, autonomous DevOps / Software Engineering team, working closely with technical teams and end users to design and deliver secure, scalable AWS solutions.

  • Be involved across the full engineering lifecycle
  • Work across different projects, technologies and customer environments
  • Be encouraged to bring new ideas, solve complex technical problems and continuously develop your cloud engineering expertise

What we're looking for

  • AWS – EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, Lambda, RDS, KMS, ELB, SNS, SQS, IAM
  • Infrastructure as Code – Terraform, CloudFormation or CDK
  • Scripting languages – Python, Bash, Shell or similar
  • Version control – Git
  • CI/CD – Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Bamboo, Bitbucket etc.
  • Containers and orchestration – Docker / Kubernetes
  • Cloud networking, Linux, routing and security
  • Monitoring, observability and operational tooling
  • Agile delivery environments
  • Microservices and API development

National Security & Clearance

This is a National Security-focused role.

  • You'll be working on projects supporting customers across the UK National Security and Public Sector environment
  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and be willing to undergo the required security vetting process
  • Existing security clearance is advantageous, but DV eligibility is essential
