Infrastructure & Platform Engineer | AWS | Kubernetes | Terraform | DevOps
Salary: circa £55,000 + Bonus
Location: UK, Remote / Home Based
We’re working with a growing, technology-led software and services business that is investing heavily in its engineering capability, cloud infrastructure and automation.
They’re looking for an Infrastructure & Platform Engineer, or DevOps Engineer to take ownership of their cloud and platform environment, someone who enjoys being hands-on technically, but also wants genuine influence over how infrastructure, security, automation and software delivery evolve.
This isn’t simply a DevOps role focused on pipelines.
You’ll become a key technical owner across AWS, Azure, networking, infrastructure, Kubernetes, security, CI/CD and production environments, working closely with Software Engineering, Data & BI, IT and external technology partners.
🔧 What you’ll be doing
- Own and evolve a predominantly AWS cloud platform, ensuring it is secure, scalable and resilient
- Work across EKS, ECS, ECR, Lambda, RDS, ElastiCache, OpenSearch, S3, EC2, SQS/SNS and Route53
- Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform / OpenTofu and Ansible
- Design, improve and automate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Docker and Kubernetes
- Take ownership of Kubernetes environments across EKS, ECS and Rancher
- Manage core infrastructure including DNS, VPCs, subnets, routing, load balancing and connectivity
- Support elements of a secondary Azure environment, including Azure Data Factory and Azure SQL
- Work across cloud security, IAM, WAF, Zscaler, CrowdStrike and Fortinet/Fortigate
- Lead technical investigation and remediation of production incidents
- Own monitoring and observability through Grafana, CloudWatch and OpenSearch
- Drive Root Cause Analysis and turn recurring issues into automated, code-driven solutions
- Work closely with an external MSP, providing technical oversight and ensuring services meet internal standards
- Help engineering and data teams become increasingly self-service, reducing manual infrastructure and deployment overhead
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve reliability, automation, security and cloud cost efficiency
