Job Description
Role: DevOps Engineer
- Contract: 6 months
- Rate: Inside IR35
- Location: London
- Security clearance: Must hold active DV clearance
Are you a skilled Azure and AWS DevOps Engineer with deep expertise across cloud transformation and secure hosting?
We are looking for an experienced engineer to design, automate, and transition secure, high-performing cloud infrastructure and application hosting solutions for complex enterprise and regulated environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and Automation: Build and maintain scalable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, alongside robust CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps or GitLab using Python to enable repeatable, secure deployments.
- Cloud Architecture: Deploy and manage secure Azure and AWS enterprise environments, containerised workloads (AKS, EKS, Kubernetes), desktop virtualisation (AVD), and hybrid hub-and-spoke networking solutions.
- Security and Identity: Implement robust access controls, enterprise identity management (Entra ID, AWS Identity Center, Okta, ManageEngine), and governance guardrails protecting management and data planes for sensitive environments.
- Observability and Reliability: Set up monitoring, alerting, and operational dashboards using tools like Azure Monitor and Splunk to ensure complete operational readiness and support application deployment.
- Stakeholder and Team Leadership: Agile best practices, and communicating effectively across project, security, supplier, and client teams through to operational handover.

Essential Skills And Experience
- Security clearance: Must hold active DV clearance
- Dual-Cloud Expertise: Proven track record delivering secure enterprise cloud hosting, migration, and modernisation solutions across Microsoft Azure and AWS within regulated environments.
- Strong DevOps Toolkit: High proficiency in Terraform, Python, CI/CD pipeline design (GitLab / Azure DevOps), and containerisation platforms (AKS/EKS/Kubernetes).
- Networking and Compute: Solid background in cloud-native, IaaS, PaaS, hub-and-spoke virtual networking architectures, routing, segmentation, and virtual machines (AVD, EC2, Azure VMs).
- Enterprise Security: Deep understanding of identity platforms, privileged access management, separation of access planes, and compliance within regulated environments.
- Collaborative Mindset: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a proactive approach to knowledge sharing, supplier engagement, and Agile delivery.
