DevOps Engineer | 6 Months | SC Cleared | £450/day inside IR35 | Remote

A six month DevOps role on a large government data platform. Remote, with roughly one day a month at a digital hub.

The Role

You would design, deploy and manage secure AWS infrastructure and networking for an enterprise data platform, and own the pipelines and infrastructure as code that keep it moving. The data side is what makes this one different. The platform runs on Hadoop, Spark, EMR, Athena and Redshift, so this is data platform engineering rather than general DevOps.

What You Would Be Doing

  • Designing, deploying and managing secure AWS cloud infrastructure and networking
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code in Terraform, GitLab CI and GitHub
  • Supporting enterprise data platforms on Hadoop, Spark, EMR, Athena and Redshift
  • Implementing monitoring, logging, security and compliance controls
  • Driving automation, containerisation and platform resilience with Kubernetes and Python

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why This One

Genuinely remote government work is rare, and one day a month is as close to fully remote as this market gets.

It is also a real data platform rather than a set of application servers, so if you have been running EMR and Spark at scale this plays directly to it.
