Senior Azure DevOps Engineer – Contract
3-month contract | Outside IR35 | £500–£550/day | Remote UK
We’re working with a leading organisation on a cloud engineering project and are looking for a Senior Azure DevOps Consultant to join the team on an initial 3-month engagement.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can work autonomously, take ownership of technical deliverables and help drive improvements across Azure infrastructure and DevOps practices.
The Role
You’ll be working across cloud infrastructure, automation and delivery tooling, with a particular focus on Azure and Terraform. The role will involve building and improving CI/CD processes, automating infrastructure and helping ensure solutions are secure, reliable and scalable.

Key areas of responsibility include:
- Designing and developing Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
- Building reusable pipeline components and Terraform modules
- Managing and automating Azure infrastructure
- Working with Azure networking, including hub-and-spoke environments
- Supporting both VM and container-based workloads
- Embedding security, testing and quality checks into delivery pipelines
- Investigating vulnerabilities and supporting remediation of CVE/security findings
- Developing and maintaining PowerShell automation
- Working with Git and modern branching strategies
- Supporting application troubleshooting within C#/.NET environments

What We're Looking For
You’ll ideally have strong commercial experience across:
- Azure cloud engineering
- Azure DevOps and CI/CD
- Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
- Azure networking
- PowerShell
- Git
- Containerisation and/or VM infrastructure
- Cloud security and automated quality controls
Experience with Azure SQL / SQL Managed Instance, infrastructure testing and.NET 10 would be beneficial. Exposure to AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot is also a plus.
Contract Details
- Duration: 3 months
- Rate: £500–£550 per day
- IR35: Outside IR35
- Location: Fully remote, UK-based
