Role Title: DevOps Engineer
Location: Knutsford
Duration: 31/12/2026
Work setup: 2-3 days onsite/week
Pay Rate: £447 per day all inc. (PAYE through Umbrella)
Role Description:
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support the build, migration, automation, and operationalization of data and application platforms. The role will focus on containerizing frontend, API and engine components, migrating repositories from Azure DevOps to BUK GitLab, building CI/CD pipelines for application code, Terraform, and database changes, and enabling secure, automated delivery across data-driven platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Containerise frontend, API, and engine components to support scalable, secure, and repeatable deployments.
- Migrate code repositories from KMC Azure DevOps to BUK GitLab, including code refactoring and pipeline alignment.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application code, Terraform infrastructure scripts, database changes, and data platform components.
- Support database migration activities, ensuring secure data movement, validation, rollback planning, and platform readiness.
- Implement security tooling, authentication/authorisation improvements, and DevSecOps controls across the delivery lifecycle.
- Integrate test automation, application reporting, dashboards, and monitoring into CI/CD pipelines to improve release quality and operational visibility.

Required Skills & Experience
- Strong DevOps engineering experience with GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Git, branching strategies, and repository migration.
- Hands-on experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines for application deployments, database changes, Terraform/IaC, and automated testing.
- Good understanding of database migration, data validation, release automation, and data platform deployment patterns.
- Strong knowledge of authentication, authorisation, security tooling, vulnerability scanning, and DevSecOps practices.
- Experience creating operational dashboards, application reports, monitoring integrations, and release metrics.
