Advance Cleared DevOps Engineer – Contract
Location: Central London, Manchester, Sailsbury or Cheltenham – Hybrid, 3 days onsite per week
Contract: Initial 3 months
IR35: Inside IR35
Clearance: Active Advanced clearance required
We are looking for an experienced Advance Cleared DevOps Engineer to join a major technology programme within a highly secure environment. The successful contractor will work closely with application and infrastructure teams, helping to improve deployment processes, automate infrastructure and application activities, and support the delivery of upgrades across complex production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate application deployment and infrastructure processes.
- Support application upgrades, migrations and platform changes.
- Work closely with application, infrastructure and engineering teams.
- Troubleshoot deployment and environment issues.
- Develop automation using scripting and configuration-management tools.
- Support secure and controlled releases into production environments.
- Ensure solutions adhere to internal security, engineering and operational standards.
- Assist with testing and validation of application and platform changes.

Key Skills
- Strong commercial experience within DevOps / Platform Engineering.
- CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance.
- Strong scripting experience with tools such as:
- PowerShell
- Bash
- Python
- Configuration management / automation experience using Ansible or similar.
- Experience working with either Windows or Linux environments.
- Git-based source control and modern deployment practices.
- Experience supporting application deployments, upgrades or migrations.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Experience with tools such as GitHub Actions, Artifactory, SonarQube or Xray would be beneficial.
Essential Requirement
Candidates must currently hold active advanced clearance. Unfortunately, candidates without active DV clearance cannot be considered for this requirement.
