Azure DevOps Engineer
Location: London - Hybrid - 4 days per week onsite
Start Day: ASAP
Contract Rate: £485 per day inside IR35
Duration: 12 months initially
Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, cloud environments and DevOps best practices on Microsoft Azure. This role requires strong hands-on experience across Azure services, Infrastructure as Code, containerisation, monitoring and release management.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain Azure DevOps YAML CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate build, deployment, testing and release processes.
- Manage Azure infrastructure using Terraform, ARM Templates and Bicep.
- Support Azure services including VMs, App Services, AKS, Azure Functions and Storage Accounts.
- Deploy and manage Docker and Kubernetes (AKS) environments.
- Implement monitoring and logging using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights and Grafana.
- Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bash or Python.
- Implement DevSecOps practices, vulnerability scanning and compliance checks.
- Collaborate with Development, QA, Security and Operations teams.

Skills & Experience
- 6+ years' experience in Azure DevOps.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Cloud Services.
- Expertise in Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines using YAML.
- Experience with Terraform, ARM Templates and Bicep.
- Experience with Git, Azure Repos and GitHub.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (AKS).
- Experience with Azure Monitor, Application Insights and Log Analytics.
- Knowledge of networking, security, identity management and RBAC.
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, Python or Azure CLI.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Desirable
- Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-400 and/or AZ-305).
- Experience with DevSecOps, enterprise cloud migrations and multi-region deployments.
- Exposure to SRE concepts.
- Experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD or Bamboo.
- Knowledge of MLOps, Databricks, Snowflake, Kafka/Event Streaming, Ansible or Chef.
- Knowledge of FinOps and Azure cost optimisation.
- Experience working within BFSI environments with security and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with SonarQube, Nexus, Artifactory, Veracode, Checkmarx or Fortify.
