DevOps Engineer
Location: Remote, based in the UK, occasional travel to London Salary: £50k to £75k (Full-Time)

Our client is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to take real ownership of the platforms, pipelines and cloud infrastructure that the engineering team depends on every day. This is not a support role or a ticket queue. It is a hands-on position with genuine scope to shape how systems are built, deployed and operated, working closely with developers and contributing directly to how the platform evolves.
The Role
You will be responsible for the full breadth of the platform engineering function. That means owning CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI, managing GitOps workflows through ArgoCD, and provisioning and maintaining complex multi-account, multi-region AWS infrastructure using Terraform and Terragrunt. Kubernetes is central to the role, with production environments spanning multiple clusters, and you will be expected to manage containerised workloads with confidence, including multi-architecture images across ARM64 and x86-64.

Beyond the core platform work, you will manage secrets and certificate infrastructure across containerised environments, maintain monitoring and observability tooling using Grafana, and keep Kafka, Redis and PostgreSQL running reliably at production scale. Where it adds value, there is also scope to apply broader Linux systems and networking knowledge.
This role includes occasional participation in an out-of-hours rota covering evenings and weekends on a shared basis.
What Our Client Is Looking For
You will need at least five years of DevOps or platform engineering experience, with a minimum of three years working with Kubernetes in production environments. Strong, broad AWS experience is essential, as is proven hands-on work with GitOps, Docker, Terraform and CI/CD pipeline development. Experience with Kafka, Redis and PostgreSQL in production settings is required, along with a solid grounding in secrets management and security best practice for containerised systems.
Beyond the technical checklist, the people who tend to do well in roles like this are those who think carefully about reliability and maintainability, communicate clearly when things go wrong, and take pride in leaving infrastructure better than they found it. You will be working closely with developers and contributing to technical decisions, so the ability to explain your thinking matters as much as the ability to execute it.

Familiarity with Grafana, physical Linux server management, networking fundamentals, Ansible or Puppet, and cross-cloud experience with Azure or GCP would all be welcome additions, though none are essential.
You must be based in the UK and able to travel occasionally.
