Environment Manager / DevOps Environment Lead
Location: Central London
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite
Contract Rate: £350–£370 per day
Start: ASAP
We are looking for an experienced Environment Manager / DevOps Environment Lead to take ownership of complex non-production environments within a large enterprise technology programme.
This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can combine strong environment management and stakeholder coordination with enough technical depth to understand and resolve infrastructure, deployment and DevOps-related issues. The successful candidate will work closely with Development, QA, Platform, Cloud, Architecture and Delivery teams to ensure environments are available, stable and ready for testing and release activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage enterprise non-production environments, including Development, SIT, UAT and Pre-Production.
- Ensure environments are available and ready for planned testing, deployment and release activities.
- Coordinate environment allocation across multiple projects and delivery teams.
- Identify and resolve environment conflicts, dependencies and technical issues.
- Define and maintain environment management processes, governance and standards.
- Work closely with Development, Test, DevOps, Cloud, Platform and Release teams.
- Support environment provisioning and automation through Infrastructure as Code.
- Drive improvements across CI/CD, deployment automation and DevOps processes.
- Manage environment readiness for major testing cycles and releases.
- Troubleshoot environment and infrastructure issues and coordinate technical resolution where required.
- Communicate clearly with senior stakeholders and customer-facing teams.

Key Skills & Experience
We are looking for candidates with strong experience across:
- Environment Management / Test Environment Management
- Non-production environments including DEV, SIT, UAT and Pre-Prod
- Release and Deployment Management
- DevOps and CI/CD
- Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
- AWS and/or Azure Cloud
- Kubernetes and Docker
- Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub or similar CI/CD tooling
- Environment provisioning, allocation and readiness
- Troubleshooting complex environment and infrastructure issues
- Working across Development, Testing, Cloud and Platform teams
- Strong stakeholder and customer-facing communication

Desirable Experience
- Banking or Financial Services experience
- Experience working within large-scale enterprise technology environments
- AWS-based hybrid cloud environments
- ITIL / Agile delivery environments
- Previous experience as an Environment Manager, Test Environment Manager, Release & Environment Manager, Environment Lead, DevOps Environment Manager or Deployment Lead
