Job Summary

This DevOps Manager role is responsible for leading and developing a DevOps team to deliver stable, scalable platforms, services, and infrastructure across multiple projects. You will define career paths, mentor engineers on both technical and soft skills, and act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders when dealing with infrastructure, deployment, and operational issues.

You will own delivery plans for CI/CD, cloud and infrastructure initiatives, ensuring realistic timelines, effective resource allocation, and risk management. The role involves close collaboration with Product, Engineering, QA, Security, and other teams, plus the Head of Platform, to align DevOps strategy. The ideal candidate has proven leadership in DevOps/platform/infrastructure management, strong experience with cloud, IaC, CI/CD, and operational excellence, and ideally exposure to cloud-native tooling such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and containerization for highly-available, customer-facing platforms.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a DevOps team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to foster professional growth and technical development.
  • Create career and development paths for both soft and hard skills of team members based on an assessment of team and business needs.
  • Act as the first point of contact for stakeholders across multiple projects, coordinating the team to resolve infrastructure, deployment, and operational issues and deliver solutions on time.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, QA, Security, and stakeholders, to ensure reliable delivery of platforms, services, and infrastructure.
  • Work closely with the Head of Platform and other key stakeholders to align DevOps and platform strategies with business goals and OKRs.
  • Establish and maintain delivery plans, ensuring efficient resource allocation, realistic timelines, and effective risk management across CI/CD, cloud, and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders, including progress reports, platform status, incident follow-ups, and any potential challenges or risks.
  • Foster a culture of automation, reliability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the DevOps function.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, cloud technologies, infrastructure automation practices, and emerging tools, incorporating them where applicable.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
